Chief Buyer/Director of Procurement

Surveys, identifies, selects and establishes on-going supplies of grocery merchandise meeting the Company’s purchasing guidelines, buying contract and assortment requirements (permanent margin growth, maximum supplier bonus, extended payment periods, product quality, product availability, etc.). Starts, trains, sets objectives to and motivates a team of buyers. Hires, trains and supports designated staff in fulfilling their functional responsibilities. Regularly reviews and modifies merchandise assortment to run high-demand and top-selling branded items in respective product categories. Obtains the lowest purchasing price levels in the industry. Ensures permanent and uncompromised quality of merchandise supplied to stores. Ensures low-cost logistics and constant availability of merchandise.
